MARINE PRODUCTION ENGINEER

Dakota Creek Industries, Inc. is looking for a full time Marine Production Engineer.
Duties:
- Analyzing drawings, material costs and labor estimates.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with class societies and/or USCG.
- Detail Design development.
- Arrangement and detail drawing.
- As build drawings.
- Able to prepare engineering drawings using AutoCAD and related software.
Experience:
Marine Field and/or Naval Architecture experience
Education and Knowledge:
College or technical degree preferred
High School Diploma or GED
Class Societies, USCG
Skills:
Problem solving ability
Able to communicate effectively
Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
Strong mathematical skills
Accurate and detail oriented
Salary: DOE

EXPERIENCED ALUMINUM FITTERS

Dakota Creek Industries is accepting applications for experienced Aluminum Fitters.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Lay out and fabricate metal structural parts, such as bulkheads and frames, according to blueprints or templates,
- Align parts according to specifications,
- Fit parts and pieces in position within hull of ship for welding ,
- Form and assemble metal components,
- Install packing, gaskets, liners and structural accessories and items such as doors, hatches, brackets and clips,
- May tack weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding.
Desired qualifications:
- 1-3 years aluminum fitting experience
- Experienced with MIG / TIG welding of aluminum
- Able to use tools such as welding torches, scarfing guns, grinders, power saws, shears, or workshop presses
- Able to understand blueprints
Physical requirements include ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, sit, crawl, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds. Able to enter confined/enclosed spaces frequently. Able to work at heights. Able to wear personal protective clothing to include hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and fall protection.

STEEL SHIP FITTER

Dakota Creek Industries is extending accepting applications for Experienced Steel Ship Fitters (job #2013-4) until 5/31/2013.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Laying out and fabricating metal structural parts,
- Aligning parts according to specifications,
- Fitting parts and pieces in position within hull of ship for welding ,
- Setting up and operating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components,
- Installing packing, gaskets, liners and structural accessories and items such as doors, hatches, brackets and clips,
- Some tack welding.
Desired qualifications:
- 1-3 years steel fitting experience
- Able to use tools such as welding torches, scarfing guns, grinders, power saws, shears, or workshop presses
- Able to understand blueprints
- Able to work at heights as well as enclosed and confined spaces
