Summary: Dakota Creek Industries is looking for a Payroll Specialist.  The ideal candidate will possess: a positive attitude; team approach; superior written and verbal communications; strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize; ability to maintain confidential information; be detail-oriented; ability to work independently; and have advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite as well as experience with data entry and a strong understanding of payroll and payroll laws.

Duties: 

  • Maintain all aspects of processing payroll from employee profile set-up, employee changes, tax info., terminations, rate changes, filing of payroll paperwork, etc.
  • Liaison to employees to ensure all payroll related issues and needs are

resolved in a timely, accurate manner

  • Assists in HR related duties and functions as a support role for the HR Manager
  • Full administration and review for accuracy of all payrolls related paperwork

including but not limited to W-4s, I-9s, enumeration, company-required

forms, etc.

  • Responsible for garnishments, support order, liens processing.
  • Coordination with HR on yearend benefits, open enrollment
  • Process end of year payroll and distribution of W-2s
  • Process Quarterly Taxes and Annual Taxes
  • Produce manual checks and special payroll runs as needed
  • Conduct ongoing audits to ensure data integrity of both benefits and payroll information
  • Coordination with accounting for all payroll related matters
  • Thorough knowledge of associated payroll and labor laws
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet strict payroll and other deadlines
  • Maintain, in the strictest confidence, information received concerning confidential matters
  • All other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: Due to the secure nature of this project a pre-employed screening will be conducted upon an eligible candidate accepting our employment offer.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Three years’ in-house payroll experience.
  • Three years’ office experience provides clerical and/or administrative support to multiple staff members.
  • Knowledge of basic HR functions to act as support role for HR Manager.
  • Washington State Prevailing Wage knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to multitask while following instructions/schedules/timelines for multiple priorities.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team or individually.
  • Experience communicating effectively on multiple levels to management and co-workers.
  • Possess strong communication, prioritization and organizational skills.

Our team-based approach empowers staff to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary group.  The Payroll Specialist will be working closely with Human Resources Management and will provide support & assistance to all DCI employees.

Pay Range: DOE $30.65-$37.49/hour
