This steel monohull vessel is a total diesel electric boat with two Caterpillar 3512C diesels driving 1700kW generators and two Caterpillar 3516C engines powering 2250kW generators. In addition to the ship’s power, this electrical power drives a pair of Schottel 2250kW stern thrusters (Z-drives) and two 1000kW bow thrusters.
The large 25’ x 20’ moon pool is provided and allowances are made in space and power for the operation of remotely operated vessels. Additionally, a 100 ton stern roller and a 100 ton Teleknuckle crane are present onboard for over-boarding large structures and equipment unable to utilize the moon pool. Also, the 100 ton single drum winch below the main deck is located next to the moon pool with a 100 ton deck mast. There is a pair of 200-hp Innovator ROVs with the ability to handle a variety of support tools.
The Grant Candies can accommodate up to 147 crew members and includes a gymnasium, cinema, conference room and helideck staging area. This is the first in a series of three.
