Articulated Tug and Barge built by Dakota Creek

The Legacy, designed by Naviform in Vancouver, BC, is a 148’ vessel with a 60’ beam and has unique propulsion pod housing. The two Wartsila C32 Main Engines and the controllable pitch propellers produce a total of 16,000 HP and result in a cruising speed of 15 knots. Each engine/propeller is arranged in two separate engine rooms and are capable of running on heavy fuel oil.

Articulated Tug and Barge

The Crowley Maritime Type 750 Legacy Class Articulated Tug and Barge combination is the largest ever designed and built. The three tugs, LegacyLegend and Liberty, were constructed at Dakota Creek, while the three 330,000 bbs barges were constructed at VT Halter in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
